The EcoCAT SCR System — Engineered In-House. Proven in the Field.
Product Overview
The EcoCAT Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system is EcoCAT Systems’ core emissions control product — a complete, engineered NOx reduction system designed, sized, and supplied by our in-house team. Every EcoCAT SCR system is configured for the specific application, incorporating a catalyst reactor, ammonia injection grid (AIG), ammonia flow control unit (AFCU), reagent delivery system, and integrated controls in a coherent, performance-guaranteed package.
EcoCAT SCR systems are deployed across a wide range of combustion equipment types — gas turbines, reciprocating engines, industrial boilers, process heaters, HRSGs, and thermal oxidizers — in markets spanning oil and gas, power generation, industrial manufacturing, chemical processing, and municipal operations.

How it works
SCR uses ammonia as a reducing agent, which is introduced into the flue gas stream. This mixture then comes in contact with a catalyst, selectively transforming the NOx into harmless nitrogen and water.
With the addition of SCR, NOx emissions can be reduced down to 2 PPM. It’s a viable option to meet current or future environmental regulations or your company’s sustainability goal. SCR is the most effective method of NOx reduction, as it does not sacrifice performance, unlike other NOx reduction technologies.

System Componets
SCR Reactor
The EcoCAT reactor housing and catalyst module structure are designed in-house for each application. Reactor geometry, material selection, and module configuration are engineered to accommodate the specific exhaust gas conditions — including temperature, pressure drop, dust loading, and spatial constraints. Catalyst is sourced through EcoCAT’s primary supply relationship with Umicore, a leading global manufacturer of high-performance SCR catalyst formulations.
Ammonia Injection Grid (AIG)
EcoCAT designs custom AIGs for each installation to achieve uniform reagent distribution across the full catalyst face area. Proper AIG design is foundational to SCR system performance — non-uniform distribution is a primary cause of elevated ammonia slip and sub-optimal NOx reduction efficiency. EcoCAT’s AIGs are engineered with adjustable flow elements to facilitate field tuning and support long-term performance optimization.
Ammonia Flow Control Unit (AFCU)
The EcoCAT AFCU manages reagent delivery to the AIG, modulating flow rate in response to exhaust NOx, O2, and temperature signals. For urea-based reagent systems, the AFCU includes urea-to-ammonia conversion capability. The AFCU is designed and assembled by EcoCAT for seamless integration with the SCR reactor and control system.
Reagent Supply System
EcoCAT engineers the reagent supply system to match site-specific infrastructure requirements — including aqueous ammonia (19% or 29% solution), anhydrous ammonia, or urea solution storage, vaporization, and delivery to the AFCU. Safety, siting, and permitting requirements for each reagent type are evaluated during the engineering phase.
Controls & Instrumentation
The EcoCAT SCR control system integrates with the host equipment’s DCS, PLC, or SCADA infrastructure to coordinate SCR operation across all load points and operating conditions. Standard scope includes NOx analyzer inputs, O2 correction, reagent flow control, AIG valve management, and alarm and shutdown logic. CEMS integration is included where required by permit source obligations
